Durban Natural Science Museum

Collections: The Durban Natural Science Museum Bird collection contains prepared bird study skins, birds preserved in ethanol, bird skeletons, freeze-dried birds and eggs. The collection have about 25 Albatross specimens, 205 Petrel specimens, 61 Shearwater specimens and other bird specimens from the Polar. In total, we have 498 specimens in our Polar collection.

The Museum is closed over weekends, but the Gallery at the Museum is open on weekends and public holidays (except the 25th December and 1st January). Saturday is open from 08h00 – 16h00 and Sunday 11h00 – 16h00.
