Workshop in Archival Research

Caroline Gunn and Michael Bravo will discuss some of the issues related to archival research, followed by a practical exercise on dealing with historical documents.

Monday 16 February 3pm

Discussion on Diary-Based Research

Tim Dye will lead a discussion on methodological considerations in diary-based research.

The Chilean Antarctic Tradition: 1520-1991

Jorge Guzman-Gutierrez will give a presentation of his current research, which explores the Chilean Antarctic tradition from the discovery of Chile by the Magellan expedition in 1520 through the signature of the Environmental Protocol of the Antarctic Treaty in 1991.

Antarctica and Aesthetics

Huw Lewis-Jones and Jean de Pomereu will lead a discussion on the historical and contemporary perceptions of the Antarctic landscape.
