The Scott Polar Research Institute is part of the University of Cambridge. Its historic building houses research laboratories, a world-renowned polar library, and fine archival collections of polar photographs, artworks and artefacts. Its Museum makes many of these items, along with displays of current polar-research work by Institute staff, accessible to the public. The image shows a detail of the frieze on the front elevation of the Museum building, including the sculpture bust of Robert Falcon Scott by his wife, sculptress Kathleen Scott. |
