Laura Ibbett

Laura Ibbett

Archivist

Part time (50%)

Laura first became interested in polar science and exploration after a short contract cataloguing Geologists papers at the British Antarctic Survey. The project introduced her to the archive profession and she went on to spend the next 10 years working for Cambridgeshire County Council's busy archive service.

She was initially employed at SPRI to help run the archive during the Heritage Lottery Funded Collection Cultures Shackleton project, 2016-2019. Since then she has worked on the Institute's Oral History collection and Trans-Antarctic Expedition 1955-58 papers. Her current project is to catalogue the papers of Glaciologist and TAE expedition member Hal Lister.
