An unopened tin of pemmican, with a colourful paper label reading: 'Pemmican, J.D. Beauvais Preserved Provisions, Denmark'. The tin was taken from the hut of the British Antarctic Expedition 1907-09 (Nimrod) at Cape Royds, McMurdo Sound.
Physical description:
An unopened cylindrical metal tin, with a colourful paper label in red, blue, green and yellow reading: 'J.D. BEAUVAIS // DENMARK // PEMMICAN. // Established 1850 // Preserved Provisions'. The top of the tin is stamped '540 // S&K // 200'.
