A scale model of Endurance, the ship used on the Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition 1914-16. The model was originally housed in a glass case (now disposed of).

Physical description:

A model of 'Endurance' a three-masted barquentine, 144 feet (44m) in length, with a beam of 25 feet (7.6m). The model is rigged with inner and outer jib sails at the bow, and a mizzen sail at the stern. It has four small boats (two lifeboats, one whaler and one motor boat). The model sits on a varnished wooden stand with red baize, and was originally displayed in a glass case which has been disposed of.
