British exploration in the North, 1800-1989

Sir James Clark RossCovering almost two centuries of British Arctic exploration, this new exhibit includes the voyages of Parry, the Rosses, the search for the Northwest Passage (including Franklin and the Franklin searches) and Wally Herbert's achievement of the North Pole in 1969. This exhibition is currently in preparation and will be fully open in early April. The gallery is currently accessible, but please note that temporary captions are in place and that Museum staff may close the gallery without notice. Further details will be posted as they become available.
