Casting a SpellRecord: Y: 2018/5A colour stencil print, edition 48 of 50, entitled 'Casting a Spell' and printed by Ida Aivek from an original drawing by Helen Kalvak depicting an Inuk man with a snow knife moving towards the right while a shaman figure with animal features casts a spell towards him from behind. A harpoon lies on the ground between the figures adjacent to what may be an ice hole or another abandoned implement. Purchased by the giver in Ulukhaktok (formerly Holman), Victoria Island, Northwest Territories, between 1980 and 1982. |
