Full description: |
A single varnished wooden ski. The ski has a pointed and very up-curved tip with a tip extension reminiscent of the prow of a Viking ship, and a square tail. There is a hole drilled horizontally through the tip extension. The upper surface of the ski is decorated with incised lines which run the length of the ski and converge at the tip. On the underside of the ski near the tip is a manufacturer's stamp, now partly illegible, with a shield containing the Swiss cross above two laurel branches, and the words 'STA […]' and 'BASEL'. The initials 'E.G.F.' have been hammered into the ski in front of the binding. The ski has a textured metal foot plate which is nailed in place, and the binding consists of a Kandahar-style toe iron (although there is no cable heel or heel strap present). The binding is marked 'Geze' and 'MADE IN SWITZERLAND'.
