Full description: |
A pair of wooden skis. Each ski has a pointed and up-curved tip with a tip extension reminiscent of the prow of a Viking ship, and a slightly fluked square tail. The upper surface of each ski is decorated with incised lines running along the length of the ski and converging at the tip. The underside of the ski is flat, with no central groove. The foot plate is made of a rubberised textile panel fixed in place with metal nails, and the binding consists of a leather toe strap (which passes through a slot in the ski) and a leather-covered cane heel strap (which is fixed to the ski with metal rivets).
