Full description:

A pair of wooden skis. Each ski has a pointed and very slightly up-curved tip, and a square tail. A strip of metal has been nailed across the tail on both skis, and another piece has been nailed across the ski a little further forward on (a); the metal strips appear to be a repair over splits in the wood. The upper surface of each ski has a ridge running lengthways, and the underside has a central groove which runs lengthways along the central portion of the ski. The foot plate is made of rubberised textile and has been nailed in place, and the binding consists of a leather toe strap, fastened with a leather tie, which passes through a slot in the ski. Both skis are carved on the upper surface with the initials 'RK'.
