Full description:

A freestanding microscope, painted black with brass-coloured trim and marked 'SEDGWICK MUSEUM // CAMBRIDGE // 36' and 'ADVANCED // STUDENT'. It has a single eyepiece which lifts out and is stamped 'S.M.C. 36' (Sedgwick Museum Cambridge). There are holes for two objective lenses, and a single focusing ring. The microscope has a rotating stage, marked in degree 0-36, and a mirror for reflecting light upwards. The back of the microscope is marked 'J. SWIFT & SON // 16616. // LONDON'. Present in the microscope is a single objective lens (b) marked '1" // J. SWIFT & SON // LONDON. W.'
