Full description:

A pair of Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) combination socks, consisting of a duffle sock inside a short duffle slipper. Both are made of cream-coloured blanket cloth. The sock and slipper are loosely stitched together at the back with a textile tape loop, on which the number '9' is printed, but it is not clear if they were originally joined or not. The outer slipper is constructed of four pieces of blanket cloth: one for the sole, one piece for each side and seamed at the toe, and one piece going around the back of the ankle. The seams are machine stitched and the slipper has been overlocked around the opening. The back of the heel and base of the heel have been reinforced with a textile panel, on which the number '9' is written in large letters in pen (this may be the size of the slipper). The inner sock is constructed in the same way as the slipper, with the side pieces seamed at the toe but left open at the front to enable the wearer to put them on. There is a textile label with printed instructions for use in English and French in each sock.
