A pair of goggles with green-brown-grey lenses. The glass lenses sit inside brass frames with small hinges which perhaps allow them to be opened so that the lenses can be changed. The sides are made of a double layer of finely knitted textile, into which ventilation holes (2 on the left side and 3 on the right) have been roughly cut with a penknife or similar and which are starting to fray. The goggles have a padded chamois leather rim where they touch the face. The eye pieces are joined together across the nose by a strip of red leather which is stitched into the side/rim. Two pieces of leather (red on the front and black on the back) have been stitched to the outer side/rim of each eye piece, in between which khaki-coloured elastic head straps (14mm wide) have been stitched. The straps have one brass adjustor and fasten by means of a hook and eye.
