a: One of a pair of boots/mukluks, made from tanned skin with the hair on the outside (although there are only a few remaining hairs visible on the cuffs), which have become very stiff. It appears to be made of five pieces: one for the sole and sides of the foot which has been gather at the heel, one for the top of the foot, one for the leg, and two for the cuff.
