A silver christening mug with a repoussé design, including bands of decoration around the top and bottom and sconces of wild animals in eight panels. The handle is also decorated. A panel at the top is engraved 'HENRY ROBERTSON BOWERS // 29TH JULY 1883'. The hallmarks indicate that it was made in Glasgow in 1881 (date letter 'K') by John Russell ('JR' in an oval). |
