A blubber scraper consisting of a wooden block with a hacksaw blade bent in an arc around the end of the block and screwed in place. An addition strip of metal has been used as a binding around the block and is nailed in place. Handwritten in ink on the wood is 'Home-made scraper for removing blubber from penguin skins // Lent by F. Debenham // 1965'. |
