case: A circular black plastic pouch consisting of two discs stitched and rivetted together, with a press stud closure and a metal eyelet at the top. It is stamped: 'No. 2102D // STAR FINDER AND IDENTIFER // PATENT NOS. 2304797, 2337545 // U.S. NAVY HYDROGRAPHIC OFFICE.' b-k: A circular paper instruction sheet (b) and nine acetate discs (c-k) showing altitude-azimuth templates in blue, meridian angle templates in red and dual star base in black. The templates show the approximate altitude and azimuth of 57 numbered stars at latitudes 5°, 15°, 25°, 35°, 45°, 65°, 75° and 85°. |
