Description: A glass bottle of sunburn oil, manufactured by Evans Medical Supplies Ltd. From the Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition 1955-58 and part of a sledging box (Y: 59/8/5/1) containing integrating motor pneumotachograph (IMP) equipment, used for determining energy expenditure by analysing expired air to calculate oxygen consumption.

Full description:

A round brown glass bottle with a white-painted metal screw-on cap. There is a yellow paper label on the front of the bottle, printed with black text and sealed on with plastic. The label reads: 'Sunburn Oil // May slightly affect plastic (goggles etc.) // K5758 // Evans Medical Supplies Ltd. // Liverpool and London.' The contents of the bottle are still present.
