Note: | Text, on reverse: 'View in Proven. The little black church is the most ... church in the settlement, but the Governor and one or two other Danes have comfortable cottages. The ground is everywhere strewed with great eratic boulders such as this red granite one to the right of the church. Further to right is an igloo rejoicing in a stove pipe instead of a chimney. No one accustomed to an Irish cabin would see anything very remarkable in an igloo ... near a dog sledge on the right is a kayak turned upside down on its rests'. Holograph note on verso |
