Karabiner |
Description: |
A karabiner made by F. Simond of Chamonix, France and supplied to the Norwegian-British-Swedish Antarctic Expedition 1949-52 by Robert Lawrie Ltd. of London. Although this type of karabiner proved satisfactory, expedition members prefered those with a sleeve which screwed over the gate to prevent it opening. |
