Full description:

A pair of purple-slate coloured cotton trousers, with reinforced seat, crutch and knees, with stitching in the same colour. The cotton is identified in the accession register as 'L28 cotton fabric' obtained from the R.A.F. The trousers are 630 mm wide at the waist when flat, with a drawstring waist with a white textile tape (lampwick) drawstring (20 mm in width). Each leg is 290 mm wide at the bottom when flat, with grubby white textile tape (lampwick) ties (25 mm in width) sewn into the side seams, about 70 mm from the bottom. Two snow tight-pockets – one on the front left and one on the back right – with round flat bone-coloured plastic buttons with metal pins. The buttonholes, backs of buttons and tops of the pockets are reinforced with leather. The trousers are very robustly manufactured and in very good condition, with only light signs of wear on the knees and bottom of the legs; the ties and drawstring are quite grubby. There are no manufacturer's labels.
