A triangular pennant, made of a pale blue felted textile with a printed design on one side, and with two textile loops for hanging. On the left is a crest depicting a ship and mountains inside a yellow rope border, with a crown above, a penguin to the left, a seal to the right, and a scroll below with 'R.A.N.'. On the right, in white, is the text 'H.M.A.L.S.T. 3501 // AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL // ANTARCTIC RESEARCH // EXPEDITION // 1947-48'. The pennant has a white, 'icy' border.
