Full description: |
A dark brown/almost black leather and woollen ski boot which has been cut open to reveal the construction (see Y: 49/13/1-2 for a complete pair of this type of boot). This is a left boot, with the inner side of the boot cut away. It consists of a black woollen upper and tongue, quilted with rows of stitching, with a leather lower, toe piece and insole. The cuff is trimmed with fleece. Below the cuff is a leather strap which passes through four leather loops around the top of the boot and fastens at the outer side by means of a metal buckle. There are no laces; instead, the boot has a leather strap which passes from the inner side of the boot to the outer side and is fastened by means of a metal buckle. The sole is considerably wider/longer than the boot. It is made of leather with a thick central layer of wool for insulation. The outer sole has no tread. The heel is fixed in place with wooden pegs. A brass reinforcement has been fixed around the toe of the sole, which has been fixed from the underneath with screws and from the top with nails. The stitching is in a natural fibre (such as waxed linen). |
