Description: A plywood lid that forms the cover and carry case for a Remington Home Portable typewriter. The top is sloped to sit flush against the keyboard when closed. The cover is coated in a painted, leather-effect textile and lined inside with patterned black textile. The fittings and clasp are brass, complete with a leather carry handle. Used by Phyllis Wager at main base of the British East Greenland Expedition, 1935-36.
