Title: | The Southern Camp, Schuchert Dal, looking east across to Jameson Land, NE Greenland |
Description: | Expedition leader Robert Burton picked this marvellously shletered site for our southern camp. It was only 1-2 kms away from the high waterfall which fell from the Karstryggen limestone plateau; and all of us ascended to the dramatic bottom of the fall. At this camp one evening we were entertained to a lone arctic wolf doing a close circuit and inspection of the camp. |
Medium: | Chalk and charcoal sketch |
Artist: | Woolmore, Ray |
Note: | Our southernmost subsidiary camp on the western side of Schuchert Dal, only 1-2kms away from the waterfall falling over the Kastryggen cliffs. Lat. 71°29'N, Long. 24°35'W (Danmark – Gronland, 1:250,000 Sheet 71 Ø.2 Stauning Alper) |
