Title: |
Beinhaugen Trapper's Hut (c. 1930), Kap Lagerberg, Lyell Land, North-East Greenland. |
Description: |
Completed after return from Lyell Land. The artist ventured to this derelict Norwegian hut, built c. 1930 by a Norwegian trapping expedition, three times, twice to survey and map the adjacent Thule winter and summer settlement, and once, abortively because of light rain, to undertake a sketch. Eventually, this sketch was completed on return to his flat in Cheltenham, only the second sketch of 200 odd not completed, over the years, in the field. |
