Title: |
Early morning at Kap Dufva Camp, with Kongeborgen and Traill Ø. NE Greenland |
Description: |
The artist did this sketch after breakfast, when he did not have to attempt to depict the intricate buttress architecture of the Kongeborgen cliffs, still in shadow in the morning. The white, glacially smoothed rocks of Kap Dufva itself show up well in this sketch against the dark shadowed cliffs of Kongeborgen. In 1991 rthe Erskine Traill Ø expedition, including the artist, had walked under these cliffs on the other (eastern) side of Kong Oscar Fjord |
