Title: | Brigitte's and Peter's Tent, Fangersund, looking across Fangersund to Fritz Johansen Ø, Dove Bugt, NE Greenland, August 06. |
Description: | The artist completed this sketch of Brigitte and Peter Grossmann's tent after dinner on the second day of their stay at the Fangersund subsidiary camp. It shows the view north-eastwards along Inderbredningen. This camp site was on much lusher vegetation than the hard moraine of the Base Camp; and an isolated clump of betula nana was even found, probably one of its northernmost locations on Greenland's eastern coast. The artist has included the moon in this sketch as it was prominent in the late evening sky. |
