Object name: Chalk and charcoal sketch
Title: The "butte"-shaped hill at the entrance to Straumpollen, Vegasund, NE Greenland, July 05.
Description: This "butte"-shaped hill was easily identified in views from all our camps further west; and the Expedition's subsidiary Camp at the eastern end of Straumpollen offered easy access to a close view of the hill. The artist did not climb it as its rockytop was abviously crumbling and unsafe. On the western side of the hill were two large, very clear water tarns, one of which accommodated 50-60 geese.
