Title: The Cavanagh's Tent, Western Camp, and the Julekagen Mountains, Vegasund, NE Greenland, July 2005.
Description: Mike and Diana Cavanagh have been on every Arcturus NE Greenland Expedition since 1998 (Syd Kap), and have spent long days climbing mountains near to the Expedition Camps. The sketch shows the river and gorge immediately to the west of the Western Camp, and the route up to the "notch" in the Julekagen Mountains, the highest point to which the artist climbed, with Peter and Brigitte Grossman. Kathleen Cartwright prepared a rota for polar bear watch duties; and after completing this sketch the artist retired to his tent, rising at 3am for his watch.
