On the first full day at Base Camp the artist climbed the hill immediately above which offered fine views all round inlcuding the eastern end of SØdal and the extensive freshwater lake (like Krumme LangsØ) of Vibekes SØ. Later in the day he encountered a bull musk-oxen behind the camp and also an arctic hare. Arnica, bellflower and the two gentiana, detonsa and tenella were also found. |
