A square white linen tablecloth, embroidered with approximately sixty signatures in various colours, including red, yellow, purple, blue, silver, green and purple. The signatures in the centre are those of the scientists on the British Antarctic Expedition 1898-1900 (Southern Cross), and the signatures around the outside include members of the British National Antarctic Expedition 1901-04 (Discovery), the British Relief Expedition 1902-03 (Morning) and the British Relief Expedition 1903-04 (Morning), as well as signatures from other people who did not take part on polar expeditions. |
