Full description:

Carving (a): Carving (a) of a Man Standing in dark grey soapstone. He is standing with large feet apart. Arms are small; left arm is at his side, right arm is in the air. Eyebrows, eyes, nose, ears and mouth are incised on oval-shaped face with pointed chin. He is wearing a parka with the pointed hood down the back and trousers. Line incised around edge of hood. Metal peg in bottom of left foot corresponds to circular hole in wood base (b). Metal peg in base corresponds to hole in bottom of man's right foot. Semi-circular white paper label "OAS 15.00" glued to bottom of left foot. Two square white paper labels "10" and a circular orange paper label "3" are glued to bottom of base. Written on bottom of base in pencil: "OAS 1500 129 68 (1959)".
