Full description:

Carving a: Dog eating (a) on base (b). Crouching dog (a) is carved in black soapstone holding the head of a fish in its mouth. Head is carved with semi-circular upstanding ears and incised nostrils and oval eyes. Upturned pointed tail curves to the left. Four claws are incised on each paw. White and red paper label glued under body: "?5-JH D". White label "12." glued under tail. Metal peg between front legs and beside hind left leg (peg beside hind right leg missing) correspond to three circular holes in rectangular base (b). White paper label "12" glued to bottom of base beside "?5 J11D" in red ink. Blue and white paper label glued to one side.
