Full description:

a: Pair, knee-length, round-toed type. Foot is made from two pieces of smoked tanned moose hide. A single piece forms the sole which is turned over the sides of the foot and gathered around the toes. Inverted T-shaped seam at the heel. U-shaped vamp is made from another piece of same. Skin piping is inserted in the seam between the vamp and main foot. Vamp is backed with coarsely-woven white fabric secured with two parallel U-shaped rows of machine stitching using white cotton thread. Leg portion is made from a single piece of white canvas machine sewn vertically down centre back. Straight upper edge is turned to the interior to form a casing. Tie of twisted yellow wool yarn with green and white wool yarn tassels is threaded through casing emerging through a hole at one side. Tie of smoked tanned moose hide is threaded through holes in skin around ankles and heel emerging through holes in canvas on each side of foot. Structural sewing is by hand and machine using cream and white cotton thread. Evidence of wear.
