A china dinner plate, white with a royal blue line around the edge, a gold rim, and the crest of the British National Antarctic Expedition 1901-04 (Discovery). On the underside is the manufacturer's mark in brown, 'DOULTON // BURSLEM // ENGLAND' (this mark was used 1882–1902). It is also stamped with a number, which is not legible.
