Full description:

A piece of wood, simulating a ski, with a leather toe strap which enables the foot to be slipped out relatively easily but with a sealskin footplate with the bristles pointing forward, which prevents the foot slipping out too easily. The wood is wrapped on the underneath with a length of sealskin (laced over the top of the ski) with the bristles pointing backwards, which allows the ski to only slide forward. On the underside is a piece of wire fixed with two nails, suggesting this object was previously hung for display.
