Full description: |
Woman. Made of beige cotton fabric; stuffing unknown. Eyebrows, eyes, nose and mouth are applied with blue thread. Hair of cream fibre? is wound into a knot at the top of the head and secured with a wrapping of blue thread. She is wearing a waist-length shirt with upstanding collar of blue fabric. Band (20 mm wide) of red flannel printed with cream and blue/green floral designs overlays straight bottom edge. Knee-length trousers are made from black velvet. Trousers are decorated with vertical strip of red dehaired seal skin overlaid with strip of white and light blue dehaired seal skin. Thigh-high boots are each made from a single piece of red dehaired seal skin seamed vertically down centre front and under foot. Band of black velvet and white dehaired seal skin around straight upper edge of each boot. Structural sewing is with white cotton thread. |
