Boots: One pair, man's. Boots (a,b) are each made from three main pieces of seal skin. A single piece of dark brown partially dehaired seal skin forms the sole, which is turned over the foot and crimped around the toe and heel. A ridge of dehaired cream seal skin is inserted into the seam between the sole and upper foot. Leg section is made from one main piece of dehaired dark brown seal skin. 21 mm wide strip of dehaired cream seal skin is sewn vertically down front of leg and foot. Decorative cuff of cream dehaired seal skin (87 mm wide) is attached across straight upper edge. Lower edge is decorated with small pieces of red, green, blue, yellow, black, and gold dehaired seal skin applied in geometric motifs of parallel lines, triangles and diamonds. Narrow strip of dehaired seal skin painted red is inserted into seam around lower edge of cuff. Stockings (c,d) are inserted into boots and extend 90 mm above top of boot. Each is made from seal skin with the fur to the interior. 108 mm wide cuff of seal skin with the fur to the exterior is sewn to straight upper edge of each stocking. Structural sewing and applique are with sinew and beige thread. Label on interior of both stockings: 'Stephenson'
