Full description: |
Man's, outer, knee-length. Made from seal skin with the hair to the exterior. Left side of centre front opening is backed with dehaired dark brown seal skin with two slits; right side of front opening is bordered with band of seal skin with the hair to the interior. For closure, slits may have corresponded to buttons (now missing). 40 mm wide band of seal skin with the hair to the interior is sewn across upper edge around waist. Six vertical loops of dehaired dark brown seal skin are attached around band for accomodation of a belt. Pockets of dehaired skin are attached to interior on each side of front. A narrow strip of dark brown seal skin and a wider (65 mm) band of cream haired seal skin are added to bottom of each leg. Twisted string is tied to one loop. Structural sewing is with sinew.
