The model kayak parts are: a - kayak, b - rifle case, c - rifle, d - bird dart, e - throwing stick, f - paddle, g - harpoon, h - tray, i - hunting screen, j - sealskin mat. Kayak (a) frame is made of wood and consists of two gunwales which taper to a point at stem and stern, 5 rectangular cross beams mortised into the inner side of the gunwales, 1 cross beam (masik) in front of the cockpit, 4 bent ribs, keelson along V-bottom, two side stringers, one deck stringer, and an oval-shaped cockpit coaming. Frame is covered with translucent seal skin ? sewn with sinew. Strip of ivory is attached to underside at each end with three or four metal rivets. Bone knob is fitted on the pointed stem end. Semi-circular wood rudder is secured to underside near stern with sinew thread wrapped around deck. Two pairs of dehaired seal skin cross straps threaded through one or two ivory tighteners are stretched across the deck in front of the cockpit; one pair behind is threaded through one ivory tightener. A single cross strap of same threaded through three circular tighteners is secured to deck at stem and stern.
