Woman's. Back is 114 mm longer than front. Made from seal skin with the hair to the exterior in six main pieces. Additional small triangular piece of same is sewn to back of left leg. Each side of front is decorated with a vertical panel 256 mm long and 139 mm wide. Panel consists of a central strip of light brown dehaired skin overlaid with small pieces of white, red, pink, blue (2 shades), green (2 shades) and yellow dehaired skin in a geometric mosaic. Central panel is flanked by a 23 mm wide vertical strip of white fur (dog- from label and typed register). Narrow strip of dark brown dehaired seal skin overlaid with small strips of cream dehaired seal skin is worked along each side of fur strip and across bottom edge. A vertical band (23 mm wide) of dehaired seal skin painted red borders each side and is attached horizontally across bottom of panel. 26 mm wide strip of dehaired seal skin painted red is attached to bottom of each leg. Bottom edge is turned to the interior and secured with beige thread in overcast stitch. Dehaired seal skin is sewn to upper edge to form a double-layered 50 mm wide waist band. Structural sewing is with sinew and cotton thread; applique is with cotton thread.
