Full description:

Waist-length with attached hood, made from dehaired seal skin (fjord - from typed register). Front is made from a single piece of cream dehaired seal skin which extends part way down each arm and over each shoulder to the upper back. Back and hood are made from one main piece which forms a U-shaped extension at the front under the chin. Overlapping seams are decorated with two parallel narrow strips of light/dark brown dehaired seal skin bisected by equidistantly spaced double rows of same secured with sinew in running stitch. Full-length sleeves are each made from a single piece of dark brown dehaired seal skin. Overlapping edges along upper arm are decorated with cream dehaired seal skin as on body. U-shaped design in same construction is appliqued to upper arm at dropped shoulder seam. Ends of sleeves are turned to the interior and are overlaid with two narrow parallel strips of cream seal skin sewn with sinew in running stitch. Face opening is decorated with a 28 mm wide band of light brown dehaired seal skin overlaid with 3X repeated double parallel rows of cream dehaired seal skin separated by two rows of equidistantly spaced stitches of same. Band (165 mm x 28 mm) along top of hood is made of light brown dehaired seal skin decorated on each side with 2X repeated double parallel rows of cream dehaired seal skin separated by equidistantly spaced stitches of same.Two vertical rectangular bands of light brown seal skin are attached to the centre front below neck extension. Each band is decorated with 2X repeated double rows of cream dehaired seal skin separated by four horizontal stitches of same. Single fringe of cream dehaired seal skin is attached to the bottom of each band with a stitch of dark brown dehaired seal skin. Similar bands are attached to the centre back (5 horizontal stitches). Bottom edge of front and back are cut to form a point at the centre. Bottom edge is bound with 18 mm wide band of dark brown dehaired seal skin decorated with two parallel horizontal strips of cream dehaired seal skin separated by equidistantly spaced stitches of same. Structural sewing and applique are with sinew and thread.
