Full description: |
A green canvas 'cooker strap'. The canvas is folded in half and stitched so that it is double thickness. The cooker strap consists of a circular loop, with a cross strap which extends a short way beyond the loop on one side, and a long way beyond the loop on the other; the straps are stitched where they join. The short end of the cross strap has a metal eyelet to which a length of rope is passed through and spliced back on itself; the long end of the cross strap has a buttonhole reinforced with stitching and a wooden toggle on a short length of rope. Another canvas strap with a buttonhole at one end, a metal eyelet at the other, and a wooden toggle on a short length of rope, is attached to the long end of the cross strap (the toggle on the cross strap passes through the button hole on the extra strap).
