Full description: |
North Alaska type (Zimmerly 2000: 63-68) with upturned ends and round bottom. Deck is flat, except where it rises sharply in front of the cockpit coaming. Frame is made of wood and baleen secured with sinew lashings. Frame consists of two wood gunwales, wood keelson, two wood side stringers, two wood bilge stringers, 8? bent baleen ribs, wood deck beams, and an oval-shaped baleen cockpit coaming. Frame is covered with dehaired seal skin sewn with sinew along deck and around cockpit coaming.
