Full description: |
A pair of crampons, with eight points (five on the front of the foot and three on the back). Each crampon consists of a foot-shaped piece of leather with a second piece stitched to the top at the front of the foot and at the back, leaving the arch as a single layer. A metal plate is attached to the underside of the leather at the front of the foot with ten metal nails, and another plate is attached at the back with five metal nails. An additional strip of leather is attached to the underside of the leather in the centre of the foot with two metal nails. The crampons are attached to the foot by means of cord ties which feed through eight leather loops attached to the sole – two at the heel, two at the front sides and two at the toe (all secured between the two layers of leather), and two at the arch (formed from the piece of leather fixed across the centre).
