a: A shield-shaped metal plaque mounted on a shield-shaped wooden panel, fixed with three metal screws. There is a hole in the back of the panel for hanging. The metal plaque consists of crown with the text 'ARMADE DE CHILE' below which is a shield containing an anchor and compass rose. In a scroll above the compass rose are the words 'Protectio Maris Sum', and in a another scroll below 'Diraccion General Del Territorio // Maritimo y de Marina Mercante'. At the bottom of the wooden panel is a metal plaque engraved with the text: 'From the Director General of the Maritime Territory // and Merchant Marine // to the Scott Polar Research Institute // of the University of Cambridge // London, June 2014 Humberto Ramirez // Vice-Admiral // Director General'. b: A rectangular cardboard box, covered in dark blue paper, with a removable lid. The inside of the lid is printed with the name of the manufacturer or supplier, Nautigift. |
