The label on the front bears a portrait of Captain Oates, with the text 'CAPTAIN LAWRENCE EDWARD GRACE OATES // 17 March 1880 – 16 March 1912' above and 'CAPTAIN // OATES // Dark Aromatic Oat Mild Ale // Brown Cow Brewery, Selby, N. Yorkshire' below. The bottom edge of the bottle is moulded '500ml 55mm 02.1641 A. 30'. |
