According to Peter Clarkson (geologist), the first label does not match this object, but the second label may be correct.

According to Peter Clarkson (geologist), this label does not match this object.

(the latter is stapled to a printed/handwritten paper label: 'FALKLAND ISLANDS // DEPENDENCIES SURVEY // Base D Date 13 Oct 59 // St. 3126 Altitude // Serial No. 22 Notes // 50’ higher than D.3126.1 to D.3126.20'). According to Peter Clarkson, geologist, the nautilus label definitely does not match this item, and the anorthclase felspar label is dubious.

A standard wooden stores box made for Norwegian-British-Swedish Antarctic Expedition 1949-52, marked with the name Schytt (Stig Valter Schytt, the expedition's chief glaciologist and second-in-command). Turner containing an instruction manual (m), and wooden box (n). The projector is marked as being Model C, type 7501, serial number 927, but the instruction manual is for a Model D Kodascope. The projector was made in the USA by Eastman Kodak Co., and the motor by North East Electric Co.

Corer

A red 24-inch increment corer, number 905 (a) and a blue 18-inch increment corer, number 4337 (b), both made by Anders Mattson of Mora, Sweden. The casing of each corer forms the handle, and the end unscrews to reveal a drill bit that fits into the centre of the handle, and a partially-serrated sample extractor.
